Camp Bow Wow Kids & Dogs Storytime

Table RunnerCamp Bow Wow Counselors share the adorable and endearing “Dogs Get Nervous Too” storybook with young readers, weaving safety tips for meeting and greeting dogs into a playful shared reading experience.  Young readers will receive a FREE storybook to share with siblings and friends AND be better prepared to interact with dogs in a variety of situations.  Camp Bow Wow Counselors will also demonstrate the best way for little ones to approach, meet and great a new dog with the help of our own lovable Scout
 


Behavior Buddies Training Demonstration and Clinic

Turn your good dog into a GREAT dog with helpful training tips and tools from Camp Bow Wow’s Certified Behavior Buddies Canine Training.  Pups and their people are invited to attend the half-hour FREE training demo where Trainer Sam Newman will cover basic behaviors including sit, down, stay and even a few fun tricks for the most advanced in the class.  People will also be provided with FREE training tools including clickers and leashes and all participating pups will be given FREE Camp Bow Wow treat bags.


Beer Garden

Enjoy a cold beer and watch the main stage entertainment at The Anza Beer Garden.

Daniel Stepenosky

DaniekStepenoskyDaniel Stepenosky was born and raised outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He played clarinet and saxophone in his high school marching band and was an Eagle Scout. Dr. Stepenosky attended Villanova University on a Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship. He graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.

Lieutenant Stepenosky served four and a half years in the United States Navy, first on the Destroyer USS Waddell and then on the Cruiser USS Chancellorsville. While in the Navy, he was engaged in counter narcotics operations off the coast of South America and in Operation Southern Watch in the Persian Gulf. He received the Naval Achievement Medal, National Defense Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Navy Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal.

After the Navy, Dr. Stepenosky received his teaching credential from the University of San Diego in 1995; his master’s degree from California State University-Northridge, in 1999; and his doctorate from the University of California-Los Angeles, in 2003. He taught Physics, Advanced Placement Physics, Astronomy, and Physical Science at Beverly Hills High School from 1995-2000. Also at Beverly Hills High School, he served as Assistant Principal from 2000-2003 and Principal from 2003-2006.

Dr. Stepenosky joined the Las Virgenes Unified School District in 2006 and served as Assistant Superintendent of Personnel until 2011. He was the District’s Deputy Superintendent from 2011-12 and was appointed Superintendent of Schools in 2012.

Dr. Stepenosky has also served as an Adjunct Lecturer for the USC Rossier School of Education, California Lutheran University Doctoral in Education Leadership and Master’s program, and Concordia University Master’s program in Education Leadership.

Dr. Stepenosky lives in Calabasas with his wife and two children who attend school in Las Virgenes Unified School District.
